I'm a 21, i'm a girl, and I like sleeping on the floor. it's comfortable to me. been known to sleep on bathroom and closet floors before too. where ever I fit.I could pitch in $22 a night/ $44 total. that enough?

i have a marriot account number you can use for your stays there. if i can get enough points we might qualify for a free room. i'd even be up for staying thursday night as well, a day early.

When you get there, you could say you have only 2 people staying there, save money. even though you really have 3 or 4.

geek.kon sounds fun! I could possibly attend if i want to commit from St Paul, MN. It would be a 250 mile drive one way, like 5 hours. so it's much closer than anime iowa was for me! not too bad. its kinda affordable, i just have to take off work for it then. i'll know how much my student loan is around august 23rd. my cost would be, $60 gas, $45 hotel, $30 badge (free if volunteering), and food $. saving $140 should cover everything. i think its possible. le me know what you think!



OMG wisconsin dells is only 50 miles away from there! SEXY. i love the dells, i want to go there too. !!! maybe another time though.

We'd definitely be up for another person! You'd be number 5 if you tagged along. ^_^ I'll be coming up the first day of the convention and staying the first and second night. I would do a day before, but my friend has college that day, and we're carpooling.



My friend isn't sure if she's getting a credit card in time (she just turned 18), so is there anyone else willing to book it? Everyone else would pay in cash of course.

Okay, it's all reserved and stuff. I used my mom's credit card. I requested a low floor and two beds.

Here is my marriot rewards card number: 889705737 use this at check in. I'll get points for it. once i get 10 stays listed i upgrade to silve mebership. if i get a silver membership i'll start saving people 10% on weekend stays at conventions. and save 10% on gift shop items, like the pop and snack there. I'll start earning 20% more points per stay once i upgrade. silver members also get a special secret reservation line to use.


GUYS this is marriot? I had issues with them for (mpls anime con) MAC! they did NOT, repeat, did NOT let us pay with CASH up front at check in. I'm gonna say this again, they REJECTED CASH. (is that even legal ?) they require payment be made via credit card. At least that is the issue I had in June with a marriot in minnesota. Be prepared !

We are going to need someone with a credit card or bank debit card that has $300 on their for the hotel payment. Speaking from experience this summer.

I told you, I used my mom's. We just have to pay her back.

you should be fine, as long as you don't torch the place, you shouldn't have to worry about damage charges. trust me i've seen people make some bad messes in their hotel rooms before, but as long as it is cleanable, they usually don't charge extra.

that being said, pleeeeeease do not wreck up the place. i usually stick to the "clean up my own messes" mantra.

Okay, so we have it booked then. I have learned that with hotels, you need the credit card that you paid with. They take the pin number off of it for that 'hidden fee' for damages. I'm not sure if you'll be able to have the card with you, but try if you can. I'm also not sure if they'll ask for ID. If they do, and the owner of the credit card is not present, tell them to call the owner to verify.

I was just promoted today and I am very excited, but this means I will not be able to attend the con. I am very sorry. as management I have to be there for the labor day sale >.<

Um, since I doubt I'll have my license by September, I'm gonna see if I can have my mom drive me anyway.

When I booked a hotel in Iowa under my moms credit card, and in my name. We ended up using my boyfriends card to pay for it. so , NO, you don't need the card you used online to check in. it can be ANY card. If you plan to use hers to pay for the whole thing, then bring it along if possible.
plan B: I'll do my best to open a wells fargo checking account this week, then we can just run across the street from the hotel with all our cash and make a deposit at the bank nearby to cover the hotel cost and then pay for it via my bank debit card (which takes 2 weeks to mail). My boyfriend has a wells fargo account, I'm gonna ask if he will come with.

and as long as you know the confirmation number of the reservation, you can use your own ID to get the room. it doesn't have to be your moms ID. you can use my ID if you want to and don't have one. a state ID in MN cost $13 and its not a license. its just an ID. my brother got one. I'm sure WI is about the same cost?

remember i switched the name on it to mine so i can get reward points for the stay? but the reservation is still tied to your email and mailing address. so just tell them the reservation number at the check in. I'll be present for it anyways. so it wont be a big deal.

It's tough to open a bank account now. WF requires (x2) $100 deposit upon opening. I'd have to do it with my next paycheck.
